Your profile is the single source of truth that camp organizers rely on for meal planning, shift scheduling, shelter placement, and on-playa logistics. Keeping it up to date — especially your arrival and departure dates and dietary restrictions — directly affects how well camp can plan for you.

How to update your profile

1

Open your profile

Go to Profile in the sidebar, or navigate directly to /member/profile. The page is titled Edit Profile.
2

Upload or update your profile photo

At the top of the page, select Change Photo to upload a new image. If you do not upload a photo, your Gravatar image is used automatically based on your email address.
3

Fill in your personal information

Complete the fields in the Basic Info section (see field details below). Required fields are marked in the form.
4

Confirm your attendance

In the Attendance section, select whether you are attending camp this year, not attending, or unsure. You can change this at any time.
5

Set your arrival and departure dates

In the Arrival & Departure section, enter your travel dates and transport mode. These dates determine which shifts you are eligible to sign up for, so set them as accurately as you can.
6

Complete logistics sections

Fill in the remaining sections — Dietary Restrictions, Preferences, Bike Rental, and Container Shipping — as they apply to you.
7

Save your changes

Select Save Profile at the bottom of the page. A confirmation message appears when your changes are saved.

Personal information

Your playa name appears alongside your legal name in the member directory if you choose the “both” display option. You can preview exactly how your profile looks to other campers using the Preview Directory Profile button at the top of the form.

Arrival and departure

Your arrival and departure dates are among the most important fields in your profile. The shift calendar uses them to filter which shifts are available to you — you will only see shifts that fall within your on-playa window. If you are traveling by Burner Bus, Burner Air, or private plane, additional date and time fields appear for your specific travel mode.

Dietary restrictions

The kitchen team uses your dietary restrictions to plan daily meal headcounts. Select all options that apply:
  • No dietary restrictions or allergies
  • Vegan
  • Vegetarian
  • Gluten-free
  • Dairy-free
  • Nut allergy
  • Shellfish allergy
  • Egg allergy
  • Wheat allergy
You can also type in any other allergies or restrictions not covered by the list. If you carry an epipen, check the I carry an epipen box so the team is aware.
Your dietary information appears on your dashboard so you can verify it at a glance. The kitchen team always provides vegan/vegetarian and gluten-free options, but exact headcounts are needed for accurate meal orders.

Preferences

Cook or clean preference — tell the kitchen team whether you prefer to cook, clean and serve, or have no preference. This informs shift assignments. Camp interests — select the areas of camp you would like to help with (infrastructure, kitchen, power, water, entertainment, logistics, placement, general). This is not a commitment, but helps organizers understand where volunteers want to contribute.

Bike rental

If your camp offers bike rentals, you can indicate your interest here and select a preference for an e-bike or regular pedal bike.

Container shipping

If you are shipping items to the playa via a container truck service, enter the service name, number of items, and a brief description. Camp logistics can then help coordinate moving your items from the container to your campsite.

Social media

Optionally add your Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, or Facebook handles. Check Show my social media in the member directory to make these visible to other campmates.

T-shirt size

Your t-shirt size is captured during the application and payment process. Contact your camp admin if you need to update it after joining.
